Details of recent updates to Scouts Australia new program resources.

Updated Peak Award Notification Forms

Some updates have been made to the peak award notification forms. These forms are used to notify your branch/state office of a Scout who has completed their peak award in any section, and would like for their achievement to be recorded and the award to be sent out.

The main changes are an update of the email addresses for each branch to which you send the form, and the updated names of the peak awards.

The notification forms can be found on the Achievement Pathways page, under the Peak Awards tab.

Scouts | Terrain Development Update

Scouts Australia & Two Bulls have had some really busy weeks in development recently.

Check out our development update here (Click here!).

Here are some highlights:

  • Basecamp has been created. This is an exciting visual representation of the Achievement Pathways which members can interact with.
  • We welcomed our Digital Champions & user testers through a training session on the 14th June.
  • User Testing has commenced on the 19th June, and will conclude approx. 10th July.
  • Programming (being able to create a Unit’s program cycle) has been created. We will be making tweaks to this based on User Testing feedback & our team’s examination.
  • Two Bulls announced their partnership with Scouts Australia
  • Achievement Pathways content has been feature completed – we are now making tweaks to language, layout and age appropriateness
  • We have published a Scouts Australia news page containing exciting info about the system! (Website Link)

We are excited to share a development update – and looking forward to getting this system out there for all Scouting members.

Enjoy this update, and be excited for launch.

Special Interest Areas Planning Tools Updated

The Special Interest Area Planning Tools have been updated to correct a number of minor problems with the fillable PDF fields. These tools can be used by Scouts to support their Plan>Do>Review> of their Special Interest Area projects, and you can use these tools to electronically complete the planning and send to your Unit Council.

There are two version of the tool. One is for Joey Scouts and Cub Scouts, and the other is for Scouts, Venturer Scouts, and Rover Scouts.

You can find the tools on the Achievement Pathways page, under the Special Interest Areas tab.

These corrections were made thanks to a member using the feedback form to alert us to the problem! You can send your feedback too!

How To Write The Language of the Program

A new resource has been created, called: How To Write The Language of the Program.

When developing materials for the program, it is important to be consistent in the way in which we write about each of the elements of the new program. This could be when creating marketing materials, when creating new resources, or it could be when making activity flyers and programs for the family fridge!

To learn how to write the terminology correctly, please download this document. You can find it under the Fundamentals… tab on the Fundamentals page of the program resources website, or download directly from here.

We invite your feedback on this resource. Go to the feedback page to do so.
