Can I change what my name displays as?

First/last names in Scouts | Terrain are directly sourced from your Branch Membership Systems. This means that the name that displays in Scouts | Terrain is an exact replica of what your Branch Membership System ‘knows’ you as.

In some instances, the name that displays in Scouts | Terrain might not be quite right. This could be for a number of reasons, such as:

  • The member’s first name might involve two parts, but only one of them is displaying on Scouts | Terrain
  • The member isn’t referred to by that name
  • The name might be spelt wrong

In these instances, we suggest that you contact your Branch Office for support to change the name that they have recorded for you. Changing the name that is displayed may be possible in many situations, but in some others, it may not be. This is because the change involves amending the Branches legal record of a member’s name. Within 48 hours this change should be reflected in Scouts | Terrain.

If you have a preferred name, this can be synced across as long as it is in your branch system.
